The first cross harbour tunnel, Hong Kong Cross Harbour Tunnel was completed in 1972, connecting Causeway Bay of Hong Kong Island and of Hung Hom of Kowloon. The total length is 1.8 kilometers, it has two single-direction channels. The toll is at the north end. The average daily traffic raised from 26,400 vehicles to 120 thousand in 1999, one of the busies tunnels in Hong Kong. At the speed of 70 KM/hr, it takes 1.5 minutes to pass through the tunnel.
